Maraming paraan para matugunan ang problema ng bansa maliban sa ipinalulutang ng administrayson na magpatupad ng martial law.
Ito ang iginiit ng grupong Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) kasunod na rin ng nagiging problema ng pamahalaan sa pagpapatupad ng Enhanced Community Quarantine at panibagong bakbakan sa pagitan ng mga rebeldeng grupo at ng militar.
Sinabi ni Bayan Muna Secretary General Renato Reyes na ang martial law issue ay ginagamit na namang pag-divert ng pamahalaan sa kabiguan nitong tugunan ang tunay na isyu, una na dito ang kawalan ng mass testing, mabagal na social amelioration at paglabag sa human rights sa pag-iimplementa ny ECQ checkpoints.

“Why devote so much airtime on the NPA and Martial Law? These issues were hardly tackled and they are so much more important with the extension of the ECQ (enhanced community quarantine) in many areas of the country,” pahayag ni Reyes.
Sa isang televised speech ay una nang binakbakan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang New People’s Army’s (NPA) sa ginagawa nitong pagharang sa mga tulong para sa COVID-19, isa na dito ang pagkuha ng mga goods para sa mga residente ng Balangiga, Eastern Samar.
“Why is our attention being diverted with threats of Martial Law? Why take advantage of the COVID crisis to impose more fascist measures while covering up the more pressing problems?” giit pa ni Reyes.
