Inihayag ni PCSO Genenral Manager Royina Garma, na nauna nang naglabas ng P2.2 bilyon advance dividend payment ang ahensya sa Department of Finance upang magamit ng gobyerno upang puksain ang pandemic na COVID-19.
“It’s crucial that we all work together with other government agencies to help minimize the negative impact of the pandemic on health systems, social services as well as economic activities,” wika ni Garma sa inilabas nitong statement.
“That is why when this is all over, I am calling on the public to donate to PCSO by continuously playing Lotto, STL, Keno, Sweepstakes, Scratch-it games,” paghihikayat nito sa publiko.
Matatandaang nito pang Marso ay inaprubahan ng PCSO Board of Directors ang paglalabas ng P420 milyon para sa anti-COVID-19 measures and assistance sa gobyerno.
Ang nasabing halaga ay ibinigay sa Philippine Health Insurance (Philhealth) upang sagutin ang pagpapa-ospital ng mga pasyente ng COVID-19.
Isang linggo ang nakalipas ay muling naglabas ng halagang P447 milyon pondo ang ahensya para financial assistance sa 82 government hospitals sa bansa para tulong sa pagbili ng mga test kits, reagents, medical/diagnostic equipment, confinement, medicines, laboratory/diagnostic procedures, at personal protective equipment.
Mayo 4 hanggang 8 naman ng aprubahan ng PCSO ang P63,513,546 halaga ng medical assistance para sa 6,211 indigent na mga kababayan sa buong bansa.
Nito lang Huwebes ay muling nagbigay ng P6.2 milyon medical assistance ang ahensya para naman sa 867 eligible beneficiaries.
“The agency, adhering and complying to the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, emphasizes and strengthens this auxiliary role especially in providing healthcare to Filipinos, bearing a part of the weight and augmenting government efforts in these strained and challenging times,” pahayag ni Garma.
